Saugima.lt replaced PrestaShop default search with BRADsearch. An A/B test across 800 visitors and 4,500 searches delivered +126% conversion rate and +290% revenue per search.
Saugima has been Lithuania's leading workwear and PPE specialist since 1998. Their catalogue covers workwear, safety footwear, gloves, head protection, eye and face protection, and cleaning products - a broad inventory spanning thousands of SKUs across multiple product families.
The store serves two distinct buyer profiles: B2B procurement managers who reorder by product code with precision, and new customers who search by product name or category. That duality - one search bar, two completely different expectations - made search quality a significant operational challenge.
PrestaShop default search provides no meaningful analytics. The team had no visibility into which queries were failing, which product codes were returning zero results, or where buyers were abandoning search entirely. Operating blind meant the problem could only get worse over time.
There was no mechanism to surface in-stock items, new arrivals, or best-sellers first. Results were sorted by keyword overlap only - meaning a discontinued product could rank above a current one, and a seasonal bestseller had no way to appear at the top of relevant results.
B2B repeat buyers search by product codes - exact procurement reordering where a partial match or misspelled code returns nothing useful. New customers search by product name or function: "hi-vis jacket", "safety boots", "cut-resistant gloves". PrestaShop's default search was built to handle neither case well. It served both buyer types poorly.
BRADsearch provided immediate visibility into every search interaction. Within the first week of running alongside default search, analytics revealed that specific product codes were being searched repeatedly - but returning zero results, because those products had been deactivated in the catalogue. The team identified hidden demand for products they could reactivate or source as alternatives.
Results are now ordered by a combination of relevance, in-stock status, newness, and sales performance. The best available product appears first - not just the most keyword-matched one. This single change has measurable impact on both CTR and conversion: buyers see what they can actually buy.
For B2B procurement buyers: partial product code matching and typo tolerance for codes, so a transposition or missing character still resolves to the right product. For new customers: typo tolerance and smart category-level matching, so "safty boots" and "safety boot" resolve identically. One search engine serving two very different search behaviours.
Conversion rate more than doubled. Revenue per search nearly quadrupled. The A/B test ran across 800 visitors and 4,500 searches - a clean, statistically meaningful comparison between default PrestaShop search and BRADsearch.
Beyond the headline metrics, analytics immediately identified inactive products generating repeated search demand - a catalogue intelligence finding that would have remained invisible under default search indefinitely.
